Thank you for the emails, cards, FB posts, and phone calls! Here’s an update:
1. I never knew I would grow tired of a hotel, however the breakfast buffet and cocktail hour are a bonus!
2. Yes, we are still in a hotel…few slight problems with the house. It’s still cute, but no heat makes it a little less attractive.
3. Kids love school–we even drop them off in the School Yard. They still have those and they are safe–LOVE IT!
4. Issie Rose started out as a sheep in the Christmas play. However, yesterday she sweetly bumped another little girl out of the Angel role. ”Mom, she was too afraid to say her lines, so I said them for her!” Poor child has been demoted to sheep and the southern girl brings GREAT TIDINGS!
5. Britton doesn’t have one friend, he has 5 new friends!
6. Hotel gym has it’s perks…treadmill, weights and more. Do you think they will still let me workout there when we move into our home?
7. Many of you told me we would grow closer as a family unit. Did you mean that literally? There is nothing like taking a shower, while your son sits on the pot.
8. Portsmouth has the most amazing restaurants. I think the Brewery is starting to know us by name. Check out the Patron Saint of Beer, pictured below.
9. I have successfully learned to drive a bus, I mean suburban. This is our rental car and I am thankful for it, can’t you hear it in my voice?!
10. Life is an adventure. You gotta laugh, cry, smile and PRAY.
- The rest of the house is a wreck, but Brandon’s workbench is organized!!
- Carriage corral–you mean grocery carts?
- Patron Saint of Beer–is this for real?
- If you come to visit, I will take you to Popovers! Best eatery EVER!

Carriages? I’m with you! Grocery carts all the way. And NO HEAT! Yikes…hope that resolves itself SOON so you can get moved in. Take care! Sounds like you’re making the most of it.
We are hanging in there..and carriages make grocery shopping more fancy:)
Oh my gosh, I laughed so hard at this! #7 is HYSTERICAL!!!! I’m so glad that the kids love school!! And tell B to get those Boston tickets ready!! Miss and love y’all!
We miss you too!!
You are too darn funny Cheryl! Great to see you’ve not lost your sense of humor with these challenging times. Laughing thru the tears is the best medicine. Good chatting with you today, you sound great! Keep me posted about Zumba and the instructor possibilities. I did make an appt to see the foot doctor. I promise to take care of myself before it gets worse. Love to all, Kristy
Thanks for the update. You know Uncle Jeff and I miss all of you. Seeing the pics and hearing the funny stories make it seem like you are close by. Hugs.
We miss you Cheryl. May life bring you more joy than you can handle and friends to share it with. You have given so much to many. You have been a blessing in my life. God Speed to you and your family
I think the kids sometimes adapt faster than we do. So glad that you all are safe and settling in (even if not quite yet in the house). In the words of Dory… “just keep swimming”.
